CAPTURE TRENDS.

Fashion has never been about playing it safe, and festishes leaving the bedroom and entering the fashion world certainly is a daring trend - but harnesses, leather and caging within clothing can give a strong and exciting new look. Now I'm not suggesting that people should walk down the street all bondage-d up but give the trend a go, for example wear a bit more leather! Take a look at some designers who are really pushing this trend:

Chromat
Chromat is a brand based around sculpturing and emphasising shapes of the body in lattice-like caged structures. The architectural inspirations, from ex-architecture student turned designer Becca McCharen are evident, as are the sexual nature of the clothing, giving a sleek nod to the fetish trend.

BCBG Max Azria

BCBG Max Azria's big accessory that dominated their SS13 collection was the leather body harness. Shown in different shapes, over different clothing and emphasising different areas of the torso - the harness was a really exciting addition to the collection, completely transforming the simple clothing in a sexy yet classy way.

Fleet Ilya
For something a little more erotic, take a look at the jewellery from Fleet Ilya who, with their exceptional leather craftsmanship, 'blur the line between leather bondage and fashion accessories':

To celebrate this trend Fashion156.com are having fetish week - where they really dissect the trend by looking at more designers' work, examples on the runway, music videos and their fashion fetish icon Tony Ward. Take a look!

Neon is back and brighter than ever, and can be seen in different aspects of our wardrobes from accessories to outerwear. On hearing 'neon' I can't shake the (embarrassing) image of me as a youngster strutting around at a neon disco in those dreaded leg warmers from Primark... but like myself neon has grown up and is now a desperately sought after colour addition to my wardrobe.

SS 13 Catwalk Inspirations:

Looking back at the fashion week's of SS 13 it's clear to see that there's lots of different ways that neon can be worn but there are three main styles that jump out at me .
  • Twinning - matching top and bottoms
  • Neon florals
  • Statement colour worn with black/white
I particularly like Simone Rocha's neon florals which add a softer element to the dramatic in-your-face impact of the neon colouring. Cara Delvingne works her Simone Rocha dress with a clashing striped shirt - this shouldn't work but totally does! Then again Cara can pull off anything..Whilst I won't be going full on head-to-toe neon just yet, I have found a few great pieces, in particular handbags, which will ease me into the trend.
